New Moon’s main Tibetan production is hand-crafted by the most skilled artisans in Nepal. For a select few collections, we have expanded our production reach into India where the historic weaving tradition is best suited to create different knotting techniques. We use only 100% natural Indian wool, adding to the organic feel, quality and texture. All of our raw materials are pot-dyed by hand in small batches and our finished rugs are only gently washed to maintain the integrity of the natural lanolin in the wool which is a natural stain repellent, allowing it to develop a natural patina over time. To maintain the artistic integrity of our designs, we continue to draw our graphs by hand to ensure that the details of our hand-painted designs are translated into woven art.
