Weave: Aria Silk Medium
Hand knotted Tibetan wool with Chinese silk

Anchored by an endless knot border, this delicate, abstract wave pattern speaks to its namesake, the 'water bearer.' Woven primarily using Tibetan wool, this design features a mist, grey-green background with design motifs in khaki, sage green and tan. Unexpected accents of pale yellow Chinese silk add a pop of color and shine. This piece has been crafted by hand in our true 100 knot quality. color: fog

New Moon rugs are hand-crafted by the most skilled artisans in Nepal. Following only the timeless traditional method of Tibetan rug weaving, we value the integrity of our product and insure that all of our rugs are woven using a 'crossed' foundation. We use only the finest grade Tibetan wool available on the market, which importantly has also been hand-carded and hand-spun adding to the organic feel, quality and texture. Our silk is imported from China to ensure that the clarity and luster is the best in the industry. All of our raw materials are pot dyed by hand in small batches and our finished rugs are only gently washed to maintain the integrity of the natural lanolin in the wool which is a natural stain repellent, allowing it to develop a natural patina over time. To maintain the artistic integrity of our designs, we continue to draw our graphs by hand to ensure that the details of our hand-painted designs are translated into woven art. And we are proud to produce a finished product with the lowest pile height and most refined texture and 'handle' available on the market. As a second generation family business, you can trust that the artistic integrity as well as the craftsmanship of each piece are held to the absolute highest standards.
